“Colombia was so good to me”
– Sunkeissa C., DreamTrips Member
800 km off the coast of mainland Colombia is the seahorse-shaped island of San Andrés. A favorite weekend escape, the island welcomes travelers with pristine white sandy beaches, beautiful coral reefs, and sunshine galore. The island is only about 10 square miles but there is so much to do!
WHAT TO DO
UNDERWATER WALKING TOUR
See San Andrés from a fish’s perspective on an underwater walking tour. With the helmet provided by Aquanauta, you can breathe as normal when fully immersed in the ocean’s water. Unlike snorkeling and diving, you don’t need any training to go on this Caribbean adventure!
CAPTAIN MORGAN’S CAVE
The legendary Captain Morgan’s Cave is rumored to store the Spanish treasures captured by the famous pirate Henry Morgan. See and hear the legend of the cave that leads to the Caribbean for yourself and visit the Pirate Museum too.
The Hoyo Soplador geyser only bursts when the tide and wind conditions are right. When it does burst, it’s quite a memorable sight to see. If you are not so lucky, you can still get a free, model-approved, windswept-hair picture.
WHERE TO STAY
Be treated by Colombian hospitality at the Hotel Casablanca. Located right on the beach and within walking distance to many different shops, Hotel Casablanca offers the most convenient stay. Take a nice stroll along the beach, shop around the town, and get to know the friendly locals.
Let Decameron Isleño take care of you. This all-inclusive resort will ensure you have the best stay offering daily activity programs, rentable water sports, diving lessons, musical entertainment, and more! The resort is located right on the beach and is just a couple of blocks from the airport – who knew paradise was 5 minutes away!
